We have been an ENERGY STAR partner since 1998, and
we were honored as the only window and door manufacturer
to be the U.S. Department of Energy's 2003 ENERGY STAR
"Partner of the Year."

AuraLast™ wood |
|
|
Our windows
and doors made with pine AuraLast wood are protected
from wood decay, water absorption and termite infestation
by an environmentally friendly formulation and process.
The water-based process reduces hazardous air pollutant
emissions by more than 96 percent (compared to traditional
dip treatments).

Sustainable forestry |
|
|
We're committed to preserving the beauty and
productivity of the forest land we own and manage. That's why
we've planted nearly 3 million trees in the past two decades
and why our timber harvest doesn't exceed our timber growth.
We work to keep every tree-producing acre stocked with large,
valuable trees and to restock those areas damaged by fire and
other natural events.

Best practices |
|

Many JELD-WEN® windows and doors receive
ratings (or points) from organizations such construction. Our
molded interior doors are Scientific Certification System (SCS)
certified, which means that millwork by-products are used to
craft them. Some of our wood doors also follow Forestry Stewardship
Council guidelines that may help attain rating points specific
to your regional program. |
