What are the positive environmental impacts
of your product (what makes it “green”)?
Traditional tank water heaters have a life
span of approximately 10 years. Rinnai tankless water heaters
have a life expectancy of 25 years, more than double that of
a hot water tank and are significantly smaller in size than
a tank type water heater, thus reducing the amount of material
that ends up in landfills.
All Rinnai tankless water heaters produce the very low NOx emissions,
LESS THAN 40 PPM and are Low NOx SCAQMD Approved making them
good for the environment when compared with other types of
gas appliances and equipment.
A Rinnai tankless water heater is up to 50 percent
more energy-efficient than a traditional natural gas water
heater and up to 70 percent more efficient than an electric
water heater saving our natural resources.
The very compact size and design of the Rinnai
tankless water heater allows it to be located closer to fixtures
and appliances requiring hot water which in turn saves on
water consumption because less “waiting” time
is needed before hot water is available for use.
What makes your product a healthy/healthier option for the
home (does it have lower - or no - impacts on human health
compared to similar, traditionally manufactured products?)
Rinnai tankless water heaters provide flexibility
in wall-mounting locations. In indoor locations, the unit
uses no make-up air and vents directly to the atmosphere.
With exterior mountings, the consumer is removing a combustible
device from the home and freeing up valuable floor-space.
Additionally, the unit can be mounted in a recessed box, flush-mounted
and painted or textured to match the external façade.
Hot water tanks are known to leak and rupture,
disseminating extremely hot water in its surrounding area.
Because the Rinnai is tankless and does not hold any water
within the confines of the wall, there is no risk of spillage.
What are the financial benefits of using your product (does
it save the homeowner money when compared to a similar, more
traditionally manufactured product?)
A Rinnai tankless water heater is up to 50 percent
more energy-efficient than a traditional tank type natural
gas water heater and up to 70 percent more efficient than
an electric tank type water heater.
Unlike antiquated hot water tanks that heat
and reheat the same water 24 hours a day, Rinnai tankless
water heaters only heat water when it senses a demand from
an open water source, yielding a never-ending supply of hot
water. The system shuts off automatically when the water source
tap is closed; therefore, the consumer is saving money and
energy by not paying to heat water that’s not being
used.
According to the Energy Tax Incentives Act of
2005, which was signed by the President in August, consumers
can now receive a one-time tax credit of up to $300 towards
the full-purchase price of a Rinnai tankless water heater.
The product must be placed in service between January 1, 2006
and December 31, 2007.
There is a noticeable return on investment with
a Rinnai tankless water heater. Depending on the amount of
water being used, a Rinnai often pays for itself between 1.5
and three years. Plus, with the 25 year life-expectancy of
a Rinnai tankless water heater, most people will need to replace
their roof before replacing their Rinnai water heater.
How does your product contribute to a higher quality of life
versus other products, and if so, why? (For example, is it
a better quality of heat? Is it easier to maintain? Does it
provide a greater aesthetic value?)
With a Rinnai tankless water heater you
will never run out of hot water again . . . no more cold showers!
The Rinnai is the ideal solution for homes with whirlpool
or spa tubs and multiple head spray shower systems because
of the high hot water flow, up to 9.8 gallons per minute,
from a single unit. The hot water temperature is always consistent
and never ending.
Rinnai tankless water heaters have a digital,
easy-to-use control pad, allowing exact user-specifiable temperatures,
which helps prevent scalding accidents. The control pad allows
the user to set the temperature to plus or minus 2 degrees
F.
Tankless water heaters are a better alternative
because, compared to water heater tanks that heat and reheat
water 24 hours a day, they are more efficient since they only
heat water as it’s being used. This, in turn, saves
the consumer money and energy by not having to pay for water
that’s not being used.
For peace of mind, Rinnai tankless water heaters
must be installed with a Rinnai Registered Installer to assure
quality care and proper fitting. There are nearly 35,000 Registered
Rinnai installer’s across the country. Consumers can
visit www.foreverhotwater.com or call 1-866-RINNAI-1 to find
a certified installer in their area.
