What are the positive environmental impacts of your product (what makes it “green”)?

Because thin veneer weighs approximately 75% less than full thickness veneer, there are several reasons this product is considered “green”. First, diesel fuel efficiency has sharply increased. Quarry equipment is 2-3 times more efficient because each stone can be used several times as opposed to just once. Any truck and supporting equipment which carries and delivers the stone now carry several times more square footage than a truck hauling full thickness veneer.
Not only does thin stone allow for more efficient fuel consumption, but over time it will help reduce the amount of greenhouse gases emitted by equipment and over-the-road transportation vehicles. Finally, because of its weight, thin veneer requires less structural support. This means less lumber and less concrete to produce, ship and install in order to support a natural stone veneer. As a result, this will lead to lower demands on our most widely used natural resources.

What makes your product a healthy/healthier option for the home (does it have lower - or no - impacts on human health compared to similar, traditionally manufactured products?)

Natural stone is a very low-maintenance veneer. Once the material is completely installed, little else is needed to maintain the stone over the years. No need for paint, sealers or harsh cleaning products.

What are the financial benefits of using your product (does it save the homeowner money when compared to a similar, more traditionally manufactured product?)

From architectural design, to shipping, to installation, thin veneer is a product that offers fantastic economic benefits. An architect doesn’t need to spend extra time making allowances for a stone veneer when thin stone is being used. Square footage on each shipment increases significantly, driving down transportation costs by almost four times. A mason can install far more material on an hourly and daily basis when using thin veneer. Of course, less time installing the product means less money out of the homeowners’ pocket.

How does your product contribute to a higher quality of life versus other products, and if so, why? (For example, is it a better quality of heat? Is it easier to maintain? Does it provide a greater aesthetic value?)

When considering a veneer for your home, the beauty and permanence of real stone is unparalleled. For this reason alone, homes using real stone appraise higher than those homes without.

There are many options to choose from when designing an attractive home, and with the advent of thin veneer, real stone is now within reach for any homeowner. And not only is real stone economical and beautiful, it’s environmentally-friendly as well.
