Acappella Design – Architectural Mosaics

What are the positive environmental impacts of your product (what makes it “green”)?

Acappella Design specializes in the design, creation and installation of custom mosaics. I work in Pique Assiette which is the art of recycling broken glass, pottery, tile and found objects to create unique, eco-friendly and functional art. I also use new tiles made from recycled material and tiles rescued from the waste stream. All mosaics are custom-designed for your project and made by hand at Acappella Studio in Renton, Washington.

a) Art from waste reduces what goes into landfills.
b) Tile, glass, stone and pottery are all made from natural materials, do not emit hazardous materials after installation and are not considered hazardous waste should disposal be necessary.
c) Acappella Design Mosaics may be installed with low VOC, low toxic, water-based, solvent-free, sealers, grouts, mortars, caulks and adhesives.
d) Acappella Design Mosaics are beautiful, functional and durable giving years of service and beauty and providing permanent art in unconventional places.
e) Acappella Design Mosaics are fabricated locally using materials obtained locally, reducing material transport costs and supporting the local economy.

What are the financial benefits of using your product (does it save the homeowner money when compared to a similar, more traditionally manufactured product?)

While Acappella Design Mosaics may cost more per square foot than off-the shelf, mass-produced mosaics, they are art that is custom-designed for your project. Their beauty and uniqueness will never go out of style.
